Hosted by The Council of State Governments (CSG) Justice Center and the International Association of Chiefs of Police

When it comes to crisis services, community partnerships are key. This webinar, hosted by the CSG Justice Center and the International Association of Chiefs of Police, will explore the benefits of collaborative relationships between law enforcement agencies and various community partners. Partnerships with community mental health, disability, substance use, and housing services can exponentially improve the outcomes of interactions with individuals in the community and help mitigate crises before they escalate.

This webinar will examine how to effectively engage partners to foster and sustain positive outcomes. A representative from the New Jersey Transit Police Department will walk through the department’s outreach program that addresses the needs of individuals through its successful partnerships with mental health services, substance use services, housing services, and more. Attendees will learn about the process the New Jersey Transit Police used to start their program and the key elements participants need to know to start a program in their own communities.

Speakers:

  • Jennifer Styles, Project Manager, International Association of Chiefs of Police
  • Nicholas Capriglione, Inspector, New Jersey Transit Police Department
